Who runs this site

The Automations Guide (theautomationsguide.com) is operated by Ian Chamberland. Questions about this policy can be sent to ian@theautomationsguide.com.

What we collect

We try to collect as little as possible. Specifically:

• Analytics: We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool (PostHog Cloud) to count visits, see which pages are popular, and understand how readers find the site. We do not sell or share this data.
• Newsletter subscriptions: If you subscribe to our newsletter via Beehiiv, we collect your email address solely to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.
• Affiliate link clicks: When you click an outbound affiliate link (e.g., /go/hubspot), we record the click for our own optimization. The destination site receives standard referral information (HTTP referrer, user agent) when you land there. Their handling of that data is governed by their own privacy policy.
• Server logs: Our hosting provider (Netlify) keeps standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL) for operational and security purposes.

What we don't do

• We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
• We do not use third-party advertising networks (no AdSense, Mediavine, or similar).
• We do not use cross-site tracking pixels (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads remarketing).
• We do not run cookie banners because we do not set tracking cookies that require consent.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies, primarily for analytics (anonymized) and to remember if you've dismissed the newsletter signup. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Your rights

If you're in the US, EU, UK, or anywhere else, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we have about you
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time (one-click in any email, or email us)
• Opt out of analytics by enabling Do Not Track in your browser, or by using an ad blocker

To exercise any of these rights, email ian@theautomationsguide.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

Children

This site is intended for business audiences. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we collect or use data, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be noted in the newsletter.
